Adult Literacy Training

One in five adults in the United States does not read well enough to read the Bible.  Teaching someone else to read and write opens doors enabling the tutor to share Christ’s love and plan of redemption.  If you would like to teach adult reading and writing, there will be an Adult Literacy Training April 25th-27th.  Location is yet to be determined.  Cost is $50.00.  To sign up, please contact Debbie Carter at Kaw Valley Association at 27-1233 or e-mail debbiec@here2serve.org. 

Summer Fellowships

It is time once again to sign up for Sunday evening summer fellowships.  The summer will begin with our annual “Meeting Under the Pines” on June 1.  If you would like to host a fellowship during the summer, please sign up on the chart in the office.

Ladies’ Fellowship Coffee

The Ladies’ Fellowship Coffee is the first Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m.  The hostesses are Carolyn Kern, Joy Willey, and Sharon Boyer.  Claudia Smith will be giving the devotion.

Paradise 2008

PARADISE is a journey to awaken believers from every part of the body of Christ to the supremacy of God’s Son, to call them to adore Him as King, and to inspire them to arise to bravely join Him in accelerating His kingdom purposes for this generation, converging in a national worship gathering on May 25, 2008, convened at the geographic center of the nation.

The journey and the gathering: PARADISE
The date: Sunday, May 25, 2008 (Memorial Day weekend)
The location: Paradise, Kansas

Those arriving on May 25, 2008 will experience a full day of intense worship, celebrations, and expressions of love and relationships among those who gather.

The PARADISE gathering will include seven sacred periods.

I. Sunrise Worship
National and regional ministries will lead worship for those they have assembled, consistent with the mission for PARADISE.

II. Small-Group Communities
Worshippers will find peers who might be different from them in the geography of their homes, their race, or their streams of the church. They will follow a printed worship guide as they share their hearts, find commonality in their experiences with Christ, and express their desire to work toward more unity under the reign of God’s Son.

III. Late-Morning Silence
Worshippers will find a quiet place to make final prayer preparations for all that follows.

IV. Sacred Assembly
From noon until 4:00 PM, worshippers will assemble around the foundation of a throne, moving together through a unique worship experience that focuses on the supreme majesty of God's Son from eternity past, throughout history, to eternity future.

V. Late-Afternoon Silence
Worshippers will find a quiet place to absorb all Christ has said to them.

VI. Small-Group Communities
Worshippers will find peers who might be different from them in the geography of their homes, their race, or their streams of the church. They will follow a printed worship guide as the share their hearts, find the commonality in their experiences with Christ, and express their desire to work toward more unity under the reign of God’s Son.

VII. Sunset Worship
Local collegiate leaders, youth ministers, ministry leaders, and pastors will lead worship for those who traveled together to PARADISE. A printed worship guide will be available for them. Special consideration will be given to what Christ intends to accelerate at home.
